some english is more english than others
I don’t know who visits my blog, but will post this link anyway.
I think it’s a riot! Just too good not to share. =)
Ruby Pan’s “award winning” speech at the TalkingCock “We the citizens” thingy.
Link to the video on Mr Brown Show
Do check it out. Haha. Love the jibes at newscasters.
But Singapore is just so confused with itself.
Singapore being the “construct” of the higher power,
the one calling the shots and shaping its destiny.
Bring in more foreign talent…
But, haven’t we always been favouring foreign talent anyway?
From the very start, we have always marginalised ourselves and put others on a very high pedestal. One which has not been questioned, but should.
Inferiority complex.
Well, perception is reality.
At the end of the day, one of the few things that makes us singaporean…
singlish.
Something only true blue singaporeans would have mastered.
How? Why don’t want to speak? Shy ar? Coz gahmen say not good?
Some feelings just can’t be expressed better than with a few words.
And singlish does that job oh so so well.
Sian.
Wahlau.
Jialat.
Siao liao.
Why ar?
Don’t want.
Diam lah!
Shiok.
Power siah!
Don’t bluff lah.
Ons.
Siao.
Tua Kang.
Haolian.
Kopi, one.
Teh Tarik one. =)
Embrace? Cull? Suppress?
celebrate.
routine gets boring
pictures, picture and more pictures.
That’s like the theme of my blog of late, especially after i finally got down to setting up my flickr account properly. And it couldn’t have been more timely too, as i can now post photos directly from my phone to flickr!
That’s quite a cool thing to be able to do. heh
Am not going to talk about work or work related stuff here. But it has been nice working with my team as they are all really nice people and have a pretty quirky sense of humour. So work doesn’t get all that boring as we have our laughing moments here and there.
It’s funny when u talk to your peers and friends, who have all started out on their careers, and within just a couple months of working, lots of people are sian, jaded, and just don’t really want to work anymore. haha. How are we gonna work the rest of our lives i wonder.
I don’t like Bayern Munich, don’t like them at all.
It’s darn gangster the way they have treated Hargreaves.
But of course i’m biased due to the fact that i’m a man u fan.
2 days to the transfer deadline and no more strong signings.
Sigh, man u oh man u.
And oh maaan, I have yet to catch a man u match this season!
Goodness me.
Just been rather busy with lots of stuff like band, friends, send-offs, etc.
Norman is leaving singapore this friday night,
to enjoy the musician’s lifestyle in boston.
I’m sure you’ll have a blast over there norms!
The last of the gang to head overseas for a studying stint.
Sigh, i wanna go overseas again too! =)
mba, mba, mba, mba… Hope and pray and work towards that.
For now, back to reality.
No longer a student.
No longer can afford to be too idealistic,
yet cannot afford to let myself slip into being totally jaded,
idealism is good. But it has to be balanced out with pragmatism.
Everyone starts somewhere, slow and steady wins the race.
Will never be a crazy undergrad ever again,
those days are over.
Time to move on, move forward. Forward motion. =)
But how i wish i would live the undergrad exchange student lifestyle again.
Reality check. Getting late, need sleep, gotta work tomorrow.
Gd’nite world.
Sleeve @ home

All these gig photos were captured with my spiffy new Nokia N73 phone. Some shameless advertising for the phone, but i seriously do think the phone rocks. =p
The speakers are quite decent, the userinterface is intuitive as like other nokias, it looks sweeet, and is jampacked with a lot of features.
This shot was taken at Home Club, and marks the return of sleeve back to action in the gigging circuit. They sounded great, tight, and hakim’s guitar lines are approaching cvlt status. haha

Now, doesn’t that bassist look familiar? haha

And one of the latest happenings.
Mogwai live in singapore!!
It was an awesome concert.
Will never see Glasgow Mega Snake in the same light again, as that song is just meant to be played live and loud!
Light show also saved the day for those who didn’t like the music as much thanks to them playing too many songs from Mr Beast.
Insane amounts of noise to close the show. ahhhh. shiok.
