i heart google

technology has really progressed so fast, we take everything for granted. I was actually able to google my mom's name, email address and handphone. I seriously wonder what one can't find on the net nowadays. If there's a will, there's a way. And almost everything can be found on the net now. Quite scary if you think of it. Is our personal identity and personal information ever safe? Everyone's probably listed on the net in some way or other. I mean, even googling my band's name returns a whole bunch of google hits. But that's mainly due to the many music websites and blogs listing our band's name down when putting out gig notices.

And even while on my job, i do checks on companies by googling them up.

No more need for the classifieds eventually. No need for thick telephone directories. No need for operator directory services. I think if the 100 number directory service doesn't provide more add-value services, it'll probably just die a natural death one day. Especially when the day comes where everyone basically surfs the web with their mobile phones. I don't think that day is too far away anyway.
seeing how in a span of just 4 to 5 years, mobile phone cameras can do more than the old generation of digital cameras. And the MP3 players have gotten to insane capacities, comparing to just a couple of years ago. Harddisk capacities have also gotten insane. I saw a Terabyte external harddisk the other time at the apple store!! Imagine in a few years, with a more advanced OS, perhaps something after windows vista, it might be the norm for everyone's harddisk to be like 1TB or 2TB. hah

Ok, enough techie ranting.

Time to share some random stuff.

One can get famous by dancing and posting the videos on the web. Of course it helps if you're a cute asian girl with a cutesy voice and a british accent. Some of cutiemish's videos have garnered more than 1000 comments. But the comments came in all shapes and sizes tho. haha. She's quite entertaining tho i must say. Just, well, very act cute. But her nick does say it all doesn't it.

The mish tryin' to act gangsta

urgh, wisdom tooth

At first when my wisdom teeth on my upper jaw started growing out and did not cause any pain, i was very happy. But now that they have grown out, weirdly, the one on the left side of my jaw is starting to cause problems. Urgh.

What timing.

Just started work, world cup, commencement coming up soon.
It really is quiet a hassle getting the wisdom teeth extracted.
But if i'm gonna do them, i'm getting them all yanked out at one go.
Ala g.a. like how my bro did them.
Better than the torture of l.a. in a dentist clinic, being totally conscious, and having my rather lousy gag reflex put to the test by shoving drills and stuff down my mouth.
Ah well.

Brazil versus Aussie soon!
I'm hoping brazil starts improving today, starts showing their true potential, and starts playing some joga bonito.

My drum masterclass lesson with Rick Latham yesterday was pretty cool.
Learnt how to apply my double strokes differently, incorporate my bass drums into it, and also how to use the 6-stroke roll differently. Nice.
Also gotta rework my technique.
already tried it out today in church, and i think my doubles sound cleaner already by just turning my palms a little more flat and playing a more american grip versus a french grip.

Ok, i think that previous paragraph is totally drummer speak, and has flown by every other person's head. =p

So, time to nap before catching the brazil match.

gooaaaaaal

world cup fever is here! It's fun talking soccer almost everyday, hearing my colleagues discuss their latest betting strategies everyday, explaining the offside trap to a few of my female colleagues, catch the matches of course, and watching the new exciting players make their big break.

and the effect of the world cup on everything else is quite amazing. I think the sales of Plasma tvs and LCD tvs probably went up as people all geared up for the world cup. it's definitely a good reason to get a new tv. haha

and offices everywhere are experiencing dips in productivity too. haha.
apparently trading is slowing down, and there are many more errors than usual in the inputting of trades and all in banks. haha. all the guys suffering from soccermania.

Haven't been updating lately, as my routine has been pretty boring.

gotta wake up moderately early for work every morning, so i can't sleep too late, if not i'll be more prone to dozing off at my desk, and that's not good at all. So besides meeting paul, some of his jc friends, eka, shirley and my colleagues for dinner through the week, nothing much else has happened. Man, it's been ages since i last jammed too.

missing the jam studios.  but i haven't been practising my drums, so better not rush straight back into the studios too. probably won't be able to pull off quite a bit of my band's stuff.
sigh, really need to start working out and getting back into shape.

well, it's friday yet again!!

the weekend is here! more soccer! =)

In other news…

For those who graduated from nus business this sem or last sem, do check your nus email! We are the lucky first batch to get a free commencement dinner courtesy of nus.
I guess it'll be very much like a prom, just without the hype and "romance" of a prom. Heck, even though i am entitled to bring a partner for 80 bucks, i don't have one and who cares about going for a dinner with a date anyway. Just wanna go for a nice dinner and meet up with all my schoolmates one last time before we all head to/backto work.

Here's the link to register.

I think it's pretty nice of them, and it's about time!
Time for all of us biz grads to pull out our nice suits and glam it up for one nice dinner before heading to work. Haha, but knowing my schoolmates.. I wonder how many people will even bother dressing up for such an event anyway.. but it would be fun if everybody played dress-up for one last time before joining the ratrace/going back to work. =p

anyway, time to sleep for a bit before watching the england match!

Go england!!

sleeping in

Ah, finally, i will be able to sleep in today!

My first week of work at jp’s been good.
Nice colleagues,pretty relaxed work environment.

Too tired to blog now…

But a shout out to paul.. Happy Birthday dude! =)

I’m off to sleeeep. Really need it

And to share some good stuff with everyone..
